5:43

This morning I was woken up at 5:43 a.m. by my room phone going off. Now at first I'm too grogy to realize it is going off and then I realize what it means. It means that some girl in the dorm in locked out and needs back into her room.

Now I didn't want to answer it because I lost my keys the other day and would have no way to let her in, but I answered it anyway.

Who was on the other line? None other than the last resident who lived in here sister, who spoke Spanish.

I don't know how I answered her, I don't know how she didn't realize that my Spanish was awful. She just started giving me a bible study. The thing was I understood.

At first I was just listening, but then I hoped on my computer and looked up the texts in English as she read them in Spanish. Angela was asleep in my room and I didn't want to turn on the light to look for my bible.

She emphasized after reading each verse how if we give everything to go and let Him command our lives than we will have nothing to fear. She mention time and time again how Jesus was coming soon, very soon and it is important that we stay close to Him and read these verses an think about them in whatever we do: walking, driving, being alone, etc.

You know what? I think I've lost sight in my relationship with God. I know he is coming again, but it just doesn't seem right now. But, He is and I need to remember that and be like Marlina and share verses of inspiration and hope with my friends and family and even people who I don't know who answer the phone at 5:43 a.m. and tell them about His Wonders and His Glory.

God delivers wake up calls... literally. He especially likes the early hours like 5:43.

P90X take three

My workout woes:

My weak upper body.
My lack of ability to run more then a mile continuously.
That I'm not as strong as the average person.

This is why I have chosen to really stick with P90X. . . again.

The first time I started it I was doing it with my friend Lauren at Union.

She's so much fun and we would grunt and yell at stupid Dominic for jumping so high and for so long. What a show off. We stopped though because it was the end of the school year and we had to study for finals, take finals, and pack. We did four days of p90X.

The second time I started it was with my dad during the first part of my vacation. My dad and I need to get into better shape and it is way easier to do this program if you have someone doing it with you. So we started it out. We did Pylometrics the first time (it's the hardest at of all of them and I wanted to prove to my Dad that if he could this he could do them all). We succeeded and felt wonderful about our success. However the next day we didn't do the next program because life got busy (we went to Knott's Berry Farm). The next day we went to the California science center and the Air Space museum and really felt our muscles. Going down stair and any incline.

This is a picture of the circling walkway from the museum to the IMAX theater. I felt bad for the people walking behind us, we were slow and were grunting in pain.

We didn't do anything else that week after that day.

However, this week I'm determined and so is my dad to do P90X. We even made a deal with each other. When we don't do P90X we have to give the other one a quarter.
We just finished day two of the lean program here are some shots from doing Cardiox.
Please remember: we are new at this and our form is horrible, we know that. This is for your viewing pleasure and not for you to critique us.

One of my favorite old school Sabbath songs

My mom sang this song many a time for Special Music. I think it was her go to song. Let me tell you, Sandi Patty has nothing compared to my mom's pipes.

crack kills?

So I've always plagued the world with the sight of my crack (as in booty crack). It used to bother me, but after a long search of different styles of pants, the use of belts, and wearing longer shirts I realized that nothing would hide it from sight. Yet why?

Last night I found my answer. Thanks to Katie (a girl who just moved onto my hall) she mentioned how her crack always shows since she has a longer crack than the average person.

LIGHTBULB!

That is my problem too. After an inspection of me trying on all sorts of pants, I realized that I have a longer crack than the average person (and cuter too).

So sorry world, but now realize my affliction. Thanks Katie.

Why I appreciate Ryan Peters

So this Christmas break has taught me a lot of things. things like try not to schedule your flight so early in the morning, be clear with your Christmas list and don't go to weddings that will conflict your family from staying with you. (stupid Krystle and Tyler, may they have many happy years ahead of them [grumble grumble grumble])

The most important, though, is that I learned more about Ryan Peters and what a fantastic guy he is. Here are some reasons why:

1. He is a great conversationalist. (muy importante when your relationship at times is long distance)

2. He is very smart.

3. He knows how to make me feel special by sending me texts to my email (thanks parents for not adding texting to our phone plan[sarcastic voice])

4. He is patient and allows me to rub it in about how warm it is in California (CA=82 NE=-4)

5. He is a good listener.

6. He makes me cookies even if I don't want them.

7. He rocks on the guitar.

8. He loves cars and even takes time to fix mine up for me.

9. He's stable.

10. Loves cereal so much (I'm always surprised how much he eats the sugary stuff)

11. puts up with my parents talking to him on Google wave or on the phone. (i'm so sorry btw)

12. Loves his family and enjoys mine. (familia es numero uno)

Being able to reflect on the different characteristics as we've been apart has made me realize how the combination between him and I makes for such a great friendship. I'm dating my best friend. awesome*

*i want to apologize to any blog readers who may think this was to sappy and a waste of their time by reading this. But you know what? Ryan rocks and I just had to say it. But I understand if you want something a little more entertaining so here is a joke:

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: "That's the ugliest baby that I've ever seen. Ugh!" The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: "The driver just insulted me!" The man says: "You go right up there and tell him off – go ahead, I'll hold your monkey for you."
